Noren's Realm

I had this question the other day:

I've perused most of the sites. If it isn't too much trouble could you recommend a company that has specifically what I am looking for, since it is hard for me to tell from the pictures on some of the sites, then I'll know where to look and how much I'll need to save up.

I am looking for a detailed female, with breasts, detailed collarbones, slightly slanted open eyes, and elf ears. I know that some come with changes of ears, or hands or such too. I find that so far Luts seems to have what I want but for $640 or higher, are there less expensive ones of what I want?

In answer to your questions, Luts would be the one I would recommend. As for the price, that's about the norm, you won't find many others for less than that, unless you go for a smaller dolls. But the smaller they go the more limited they are for the style you're talking about. Elves are harder to find, I do, however, have a list of BJD elves on my forum here:

However, I personally love Luts, the scuplts, the resin and the bodies are the best. Plus they have a great many of beautiful elves that are not limited, unlike most companies whose elven dolls are limited. Most of the dolls I own are Luts. I think for the girls you're thinking of, the closest I can think is the Dark Elf Soo, or the Vampire Soo.

If you don't like any of the heads offered, many of my roommated have moddified elf ears on the resin head with apoxy. It's a good method if you have some experience with it that sort of thing. Many of our dolls on the Noren forum have been modded this way. You can view them here:

There is one route you can do to get a dolls that a little cheaper but there is a catch. Most of my female dolls are on a body called Dream Dollfie body from Volks. You can find them here:

They run, $231, plus shipping.

Then you can buy a head in the LUTS-OPTION PARTS section at Luts. There you can buy heads seperate, the elf heads they have for sale are Dark Elf Soo, Angel Elf Soo, and Vampire Dark Elf Soo. Those are the only ones with elf ears in the 60cm (commonly known as SD size) that come with elf ears. The heads run $110, plus EMS shipping...whichi s $25-$35 dollars to the USA for one head, I think.

Then you attach the resin head to the vynal body, through a creative method using a plastic bottle cap and rubber band(I know it sounds scary, but it REALLy works well!), which if you do go this route I would happy to help you with. ;) Her head turns and holds poses and everything just like the resin ones!

The catch is that the resin color of the head is not always a perfect match. Sometimes the resin is a little lighter or darker. It doesn't bother most people, but others they can deal...depends on the owner I guess. Blushing the body and or head often gets rid of this and it's hardly noticeable. The DD body is lighter, more poseable, and (I think) prettier. All the SD sized girls in the Noren section are on DD bodies. You can view many of them here:

Personally, I like this method, I'm a fan of the DD bodies, but they aren't for everyone. It's just you asked about cheaper ideas. She comes to about $100-$150 less than the resin one, I think.
